If the bride and groom have never danced, they should plan for several weeks of class, or even a few months and several hours of practice.
We also offer the parents of the future bride and groom or the bride and her father, the groom and her mother, courses for a service to offer to their guests.
If the bride and groom needed my services for a practice on the dance floor of their reception hall, this service could be offered and I could come to visit.
Classes are offered in the studio only.
Course of the course:
First sessions
On the first visit, I invite my clients to dance to assess where they are in their dance knowledge and I invite them to describe their needs to me. If they have never danced before, I ask them which first dance they would like to learn.
So, facing the mirror, I show them the step to take; we repeat it several times, first without music and as soon as he masters it, we dance to the music and then as a couple.
Listening
Others have a specific purpose on their first visit. It’s often for the opening of their wedding dance. They chose their music and their dance. So I have to put together a choreography that meets their needs and I have to teach them this choreography. Their successful opening wedding dance makes me professionally happy.
Then the improvement
At the very beginning, I didn't insist on technique and handling. But, after a few weeks, I get the students to hold a good posture, to put the feet well and to execute the step well, in the right angle. Men learn to lead their partner with the movement of the body rather than with the arms. Women must follow the movement led by their partner. Thus, I encourage them to dance well so that they are beautiful to watch.
Classes are now offered in Saint-Constant, on St-Régis-Nord, on Saturdays p.m. and Sundays on request.
